A Theatre Preview

A first look at Laredo’s newest theatre production

Opening Night Impressions A first-look at Laredo’s newest theatre production (Hola! Staff)

LAREDO, Tex. (Hola Laredo) -

Last night, I had the chance to attend media night for The Good Doctor by Neil Simon. The show is a collection of short stories, each one a small life lesson told with a witty twist. I didn’t expect to laugh as much as I did, or to be pulled in by the emotional beats the way I was. By the end of the night, it felt less like watching scenes on a stage and more like being invited into moments that were honest, familiar, and unexpectedly moving.

In an age of instant content, scrolling, and AI-generated everything, the people yearn for intimate, human art experiences again, and that’s exactly what this is. Tucked inside the historic Laredo College show box theatre, this cast delivers laughter, heart, and storytelling that feels truly meaningful and unforgettable.

Don’t miss your chance to experience The Good Doctor live!

Performances run December 11–21, 2025, directed by John Maxstadt.
