In an exclusive interview with HOLA!, Isabella opens up about her latest collection, which was recently showcased at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Art Gallery. The exhibit, featuring historical figures, explores the intersection of history, identity, and culture. “Art is a powerful tool for storytelling,” Davila shares. “I wanted to bring history to life through my work, focusing on important historical figures. Each piece tells a story, not just of the past, but of the continuing evolution of our culture.”
Davila’s work is displayed in various prominent spots around town, each piece serving as a visual connection to Laredo’s history. Notable locations include 2002 San Bernardo Ave, Slaughter Park by the basketball courts, 202 N Stone Ave, Independence Hills Park, Bartlett Soccer Complex, and North Central Park by the pool entrance. Her art also graces local institutions such as the Sophie Christen McKendrick, Francisco Ochoa, and Fernando A. Salinas Branch Library and Martin High School.
Her works are not just confined to gallery walls. They serve as public reminders of the significance of history and culture within the community. Davila is particularly passionate about making art accessible to everyone.

“I believe art should be a part of everyday life,” Davila explains. “By placing it in public spaces, I can reach more people and start conversations about the importance of art in understanding who we are.”
